Implementation check: this policy reflects the current Android release build and source reviewed on 17 September 2026. If the app changes, this policy will be updated.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to PlainOS Audio Cleaner, the Android app published under the PlainOS brand. It explains how the app handles media, app settings, diagnostics, and information you may choose to send when contacting support.
2. Audio and video processing
You choose a media file using Android’s system file picker or Share feature. The app reads that selected item only to perform the features you request.
- Noise removal, voice enhancement, EQ, compression, amplification, loudness normalisation, previews, captions, and optional video processing take place on your device.
- Selected media is not uploaded to PlainOS or sent to an online artificial-intelligence service.
- The current release app does not request Android internet or network-state permission.
- The original file is not replaced. A new file is created only when you choose to export.
3. Accounts, advertising, analytics, and crash reports
The current app:
- does not provide or require a user account;
- contains no advertising and uses no advertising identifier;
- contains no analytics or tracking service; and
- contains no service that remotely collects crash reports.
PlainOS therefore does not receive usage analytics, device tracking data, or automatic crash reports from the app.
4. Personal data collection
The app does not transmit personal data to PlainOS. It has no network permission and does not operate an account or telemetry system.
The app does process information locally that you provide or create, including the selected media, temporary processing files, previews, exported results, optional caption text, and creator settings. These items remain under your control on the device, subject to the Android features described below.
5. Files and settings stored on your device
- Temporary files and previews: stored in private app storage while processing and cleared by the app’s cleanup workflow or when app data is cleared.
- Saved results: placed in Music / Audio Cleaner or Movies / Audio Cleaner when you choose to export. They remain until you delete them.
- Creator preferences: settings such as saved presets and optional watermark text are stored locally in private app preferences until you clear app data or uninstall.
Android may back up eligible app settings if device backup is enabled. That is an operating-system feature controlled through your device and Google account settings, not an upload performed by PlainOS. Selected recordings and exported media are not uploaded by PlainOS.
6. Permissions and device access
The app uses Android’s system picker to receive access to the specific media item you select rather than requesting permission to browse your entire media library. The packaged release includes a wake-lock permission used by media processing so Android can complete an active task. It does not include internet permission.
7. On-device diagnostics
The app can display processing progress, estimated completion time, memory use, GPU activity, power information, and error details on screen. These diagnostics remain on your device. They are not automatically sent to PlainOS.
8. Sharing with another app
If you deliberately use Share, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or another installed app after export, Android passes the selected result to that service. That transfer is initiated by you and is governed by the receiving service’s privacy policy. PlainOS does not send the file in the background.
9. Support communications
If you email support, PlainOS receives the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, phone model, Android version, file type, or copied diagnostic text. This information is used to respond to and manage your support request.
Do not send a private recording unless you intentionally want support to receive it. The app never attaches recordings or diagnostics automatically.
10. Children’s privacy
PlainOS Audio Cleaner is a general-purpose media utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children or other users.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may change if the app’s features, data practices, or legal requirements change. A revised policy will keep this stable URL and show a new effective date.
12. Contact
